Sometimes you need something extra to look forward to – when I want to gather my friends, I organize a pick-me-up midweek craft party.
Here’s my strategy.
2-3 weeks before
I create a WhatsApp group with everyone, and send out a survey with dates – at least two or three weeks in advance. People are busy, and need time to schedule babysitters. The more advanced notice, the better.
Choose the date with the most responses. Don’t worry if only a few people respond; a small party has its own fun flavor.
This would also be a great time to order our Hebrew Beaded Bracelet Party Kit to surprise your friends with a unique activity.
Before the party
Prepare food! (My parties tend to balance eating and crafting about 50-50… sssshhh). Fancy cheeses and crackers are quick to prepare. Balance with a large green salad. I like to have a couple pizzas ready to bake; I can choose to slip however many I want into the oven depending on how many people show up.
At the party
For my parties, everyone is encouraged to bring that craft project stuffed in the back of the closet, that they’ve been meaning to work on for months. You have one, don’t you 🙂 ? Knitting, sewing, drawing, anything goes. I’ll also have supplies ready for anyone who did not bring a project – markers and colored pencils, paper, sewing supplies, etc.
And that’s it! Let the crafting and good spirits flow!
