Sometimes you want to dance the night away, and sometimes… a break would be nice after a heavy meal. Activity tables have been popping up at recent simchas, and I love the idea. In addition to (of course!) a table for Hebrew bracelet making, other activity tables I’ve seen include:
- General arts & crafts table, with stickers, markers, scissors, paper, etc., for anyone who needed a break from dancing. Who says stickers are just for kids?!

- Temporary tattoos. I saw this one at a wonderfully hippie wedding (to give you an idea: the groom was wearing a top hat with a feather, and the bridesmaids were dressed as winged fairies). The table was spread with a medley of temporary tattoos printed on plastic sheets, and bowls of water for wetting and applying them.
- Message book. A table where guests stopped by to write messages to the bride and groom (a classic idea, for the non-hippies among you 🙂 ).
- Flower wreaths (headbands) & corsages. The table was strewn with flowers, and guests picked what they wanted assembled. Guests wore the results, and the entire wedding looked prettier and prettier over time!

- Poetry magnets. The couple had a literary bent. They printed up magnets with an assortment of quotes and poems on them. Guests stopped by to read them and choose one to keep.
